August 22, 2015. Burbank, CA. The Kiwanis Club of Burbank held its 18th Annual Gala at the prestigious Lakeside Golf Course this past Saturday, August 22nd.

This year’s honoree was the accomplished Actor/Director/Entrepreneur Joe Mantegna. Joe was a gracious honoree, who made himself available throughout the evening to every guest that wanted a word or a picture with him! We are thankful and honored that Joe participated in our event. One lucky Live Auction winner will get to spend the day on the set of the Criminal Minds TV Show and have lunch with Joe! This was a last minute addition – in fact added in the middle of the live auction portion of the night by Joe Mantegna himself! The whole club is a fan of Joe and his show!

The Cusumano Cusumano Real Estate GroupReal Estate Group was our Platinum Sponsor this Year! The Cusumano family have always been friends of the Kiwanis Club of Burbank and we are honored to have their support. We also want to thank The City of Burbank / Burbank Water and Power and the Worthe Real Estate Group for being Grand Benefactors for our event!

Joe Mantegna and Johnny Holiday.

Johnny Holiday was again our Master of Ceremonies! With his quick wit and smooth delivery, Johnny regaled the crowd with fun facts and stories of the Golden Age of Hollywood, while keeping the evening going and adding his own brand of life into the event. They don’t make them like Johnny any more!

A true friend to the Kiwanis Club of Burbank, Johnny gave a sizable donation and also committed to helping the Burbank Boy’s and Girl’s Club to serve more children. Our club also supports that great organization and we are thrilled that we’ll get to see Johnny in Burbank more often!

Burbank Mayor Bob Frutos presents Joe Mantegna with a City Proclamation.

Burbank Mayor Bob Frutos presents Joe Mantegna with a City Proclamation.

The invocation was delivered by Rev. Larry Stamper who eloquently delivered humorous and heartfelt words.

Our City, County and State also thanked and honored Joe Mantegna for his participation in our Gala and his philanthropic work. Joe received a City of Burbank Proclamation from Mayor Bob Frutos, a State Assembly Proclamation from the office of Assemblyman John Gatto, who represents the 43rd District and a County of Los Angeles proclamation from the office of Los Angeles County Supervisor for the 5th District Michael D. Antonovich.

Our Live Auction Auctioneer was once again Bruce Osgood. He was animated, lively and jovial while helping many attendees dig into their purses and wallets 🙂 . Kidding aside, this was one of the most successful Live Auctions we’ve had in years, and we thank Bruce and every bidder that was present.
