Burbank Singing Star 2019 Great Success!
Burbank Signing Star is a Kiwanis Club of Burbank charity event created by The Music Junction. Charissa Wheeler, the owner of TMJ joined Burbank Kiwanis and promptly shared her dream of a charity singing contest with the club’s board of directors. The idea was immediately embraced and seeds to what would grow into one of the most engaging charity events in Burbank were planted! The emphasis of this charity fundraiser is to raise funds for the Burbank Unified School District’s Music Education programs. Funds from prior years have been used to purchase instruments for elementary schools and to fund music education.
The 4th Annual Burbank Singing Star was held on Sunday April 28th, 2019 – with over 1,000 total audience members over 2 finalist concerts! The 1PM concert featured finalist ages 5 to 10, and the 4PM concert featured finalist ages 11 to 14. The event was held at the beautiful community auditorium at the Church of Scientology of the Valley. The church donated the space so that most of the funds raised could go to music eduction!
The contest was hosted by Charissa Wheeler and entertainer Robbie Fitzsimmons! We had a guests performance from Dakota Lotus, who plays “Coop” in Disney Channel’s “Coop and Cami Ask the World”. There were guest performances from last year’s contest winners as well: Burbank Singing Star 2018 Younger Division 1st Place Winner Isabella Meneses Performed her original song, “Love is Forever”. Recording studio session and song produced by Stefan Lit. Composition coach and vocal coach: Brad Hubisz, The Music Junction. And Burbank Singing Star 2018 11-14 Division 1st Place Winner Genesis “Genni” Ochoa performe her original song, “Mirror”. Accompanied by guitarist and songwriting coach, Beau LePaige. Composition coaches: Sarah Strubbe & Brad Hubisz, Vocal Coach: Anahit Grigoryan, The Music Junction.
